Many
sites of historic and cultural interest complement the area’s
natural beauty and charm. All the places mentioned below are within
25 miles of Rectory Farm.
Warwick
Castle, Blenheim Palace and Sudeley
Castle feature amongst some of the finest stately homes
in the UK.
Broughton
Castle (12 miles), the ancestral home of Lord and Lady
Saye and Sele is open throughout the summer months as is Sulgrave
Manor, home to George Washington’s ancestors.
Local
National Trust properties include Charlcote Park,
Upton House, Snowshill Manor,
Lodge Park, Sherborne and Chastleton House (2 miles).
The National Trust gardens at Hidcote are impressive, as are the
nearby privately owned Kiftsgate Gardens.
The
University City of Oxford with its splendid old
colleges and Shakespeare’s Stratford upon Avon are
both within reach, being only 20 miles away.
The
delightful towns of Stow on the Wold, Chipping
Campden, Burford and Chipping
Norton are all close by and numerous small picturesque
Cotswold villages such as Evenlode, Broadwell, the Slaughters, Guiting
Power, Bibury and the Tews are within easy reach by cycle or car.
However, a gentle drive or stroll through the quiet lanes of this
unspoilt Cotswold landscape will reveal a different
stunning view at every turn.
